However, there aren’t instructions on what to do when life provides stated lemons three years in a row, enter National Able Network’s IT Career Lab. For years, I labored in the healthcare industry. Not only did I know slightly about every facet of my career, I knew the flowery lingo to match. I threw around terms corresponding to: I&Os, NAS, BP and ambulate like a heavyweight. I was comfy in my healthcare skin, a little too comfortable. In December 2011, I determined it was time to make a move after many years with the same company and broaden my profession prospects. I knew somebody who organized an interviewed for me with a hiring manager from an organization that was hiring, and I received employed: perfect! As I settled into my place, my new employer reorganized the corporate and started shedding staff. Unfortunately, this included me and like that first bite of a lemon, it left me with a twisted face and bitter taste in my mouth. “No Problem,” I thought; with a level and years of experience, certainly I’ll find a job immediately. Fast forward to 2015, a few part-time jobs and quite a few failed applications later (thanks, applicant monitoring systems), I found myself with extra lemons than I knew what to do with. In February 2015, I noticed an IT Career Lab advertisement that claimed I may expound on my interest in know-how, be taught more about laptop networks and earn three IT certifications! This was my candy opportunity to be taught a new ability in addition to strengthen my resume. I thought, “Why wouldn’t I enroll?” For the primary time in years, I began to think about utilizing these saved lemons fo r good. My IT Career Lab application course of was seamless. Everyone at National Able Network was useful and genuinely kind and made me really feel welcome. In April 2015, I was formally enrolled in IT Career Lab. Terms similar to: OSI model, LAN/WAN, Frame Relay and HSRP helped to rebuild my lingo chops. Plus, I was able to follow configuring networks on Cisco’s Packet Tracer software. Moreover, I successfully completed the CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician certification, and Cisco Certified Network Associate certification. An added bonus was my latest placement in an internship where I’m learning how to navigate Active Directory together with Windows Server plus! I strongly implore anybody interested in IT Career Lab to apply proper now! For the first time in a very long time, I’m hopeful and excited about new studying experiences and alternatives.
